HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Diamond Jaguars won two games in the third and final day of the Charger Chillout with a 12-4 non-conference win over Miles and a 3-2 last-inning comeback over Delta State.

GRU Augusta (3-7) faced Delta State (4-5) in game two action after they put up 12 over Miles. The Lady Statesmen's Madison Zoeller lined an RBI single in the bottom of the second to score Andrea Cutts for an early 1-0 lead. Delta State plated one on a ground-rule double off the bat of Zoeller in the sixth and held GRU scoreless until their last at bat.
The Jags tied the game in the top of the seventh to force extra innings by playing small ball and capitalizing on an error. Casey Rowland reached first on an error and Brianna Dickens drew her third walk of the day. A sac bunt from Hannah Vaughn moved the runners to second and third and Ashley Benton's RBI single scored the first run for GRU. Erin Rozier tied the game with a single up the middle in the next at bat.
Sophomore starter Paige Deschaine shut down DSU in the bottom of the seventh to give her team another at bat. Two back-to-back bunts scored Mallory Ferguson for the 3-2 win over the Lady Statesmen. Deschaine pitched a complete game and got the win in 8.0 innings, allowing five hits for two runs and giving up one extra-base hit with seven strikeouts.
Benton and Rozier paced the Jags with 2-for-4 performances with an RBI each and Brooke Stephens and Kristen Bagley each had one hit.
The Jaguars play at Anderson on Saturday, Feb. 15 for a 12:00 p.m. doubleheader.
