Box Score FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The Jaguars played their sixth game in the last seven days on Tuesday night at Emmanuel College and despite hitting four homeruns and totaling 10 hits, GRU Augusta fell 14-9 on Tuesday night in non-conference action.
GAME STATS
GRU (12-18) went up 1-0 on a Drew Taylor solo homerun in the first inning. Blue Sanderson plated Hunter Boose on a single to right field in the second inning to get another across, but the EC Lions scored 10 runs after the first four runs. They hit four homeruns as well.
Emmanuel (5-26) entered the game on a nine-game losing streak, and put up 17 hits for 14 runs on the Jags. Boose knocked another homer for GRU in the fourth and Connor Gilbert followed suite for one in the seventh, before Taylor sent his second out in the eighth.
Kevin Dodson made his second start on the mound and pitched 2.0 innings, allowing seven hits for nine earned runs. David Hagelston relieved for 5.1 innings of work, striking out five and surrendering four runs on six hits. David Rivera closed out the game on the mound in the ninth inning, getting two strikeouts and giving up one run.
Jim Wagner went 3-5 with two RBI, Taylor was 3-4 with two runs and three RBI off two homers, and Boose went 3-5 with two runs and an RBI. Sanderson, Nick Rau, and Gage Patton each had two hits in the game.
The Jaguars host a Peach Belt Conference series with the Flagler Saints this Friday-Saturday, April 3-4, beginning with a single game on Friday at 6:00 p.m. in Lake Olmstead Stadium. Friday's game will have live stats and video, and Saturday will only have live stats.
