Box Score 2 AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Jaguars trailed 1-0 in their last at bat of game two when sophomore Lindsey Stokes delivered a two-run hit for a 2-1 comeback win over Flagler College after they dropped a close 2-0 first meeting to the Saints on Monday afternoon at Jaguar Field.
The Jaguars (12-26, 1-9 PBC) grabbed their first win in the Peach Belt Conference this season with the walk-off, game-two win.
In the first meeting, Flagler (19-18, 4-10 PBC ) scored two in the third on a wild pitch and sacrifice fly and held the Jags scoreless the rest of the way for a 2-0 game-one win.
Augusta senior slinger Haley Birkle (4-8) logged another complete game and only allowed two runs on five hits while striking out a pair in the loss. The Saints' Haleigh Corbally (8-6) had 15 strikeouts on the mound and gave up four hits in the shut out win.
Jags sophomore Carolyn Edwards went 2-3 in game one and Ashley Benton and Ashley Boyd each had one hit.
Game two was scoreless through the first three innings until a Jaguar infield error scored the first Flagler run in the fourth.
A 1-0 run game all the way to the Jags' last scheduled at bat, senior Kristen Bagley drew a walk to start the bottom of the seventh inning and Edwards doubled to put runners on second and third with no outs.
Sophomore Lindsey Stokes came to the plate and lined a shot into right-center field to clear the bases and end the game in favor of the Jags 2-1.
Augusta sent senior Paige Deschaine (6-9) to start the second game on the mound and she struck out six batters in her 7.0 innings pitched and only gave up four hits.
Callie Reed (7-7) took the loss in game two in 6.0 innings on the mound, allowing two hits for two runs.
Augusta hosts rival USC Aiken for a PBC doubleheader on Wednesday, March 30 for a 2:00 p.m. start at Jaguar Field.
