Box Score AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta Jaguars matched 14 hits to the Georgia College Bobcats on Saturday afternoon but fell 10-5 in game two of the Peach Belt Conference series at Jaguar Field.
Augusta (29-18, 17-2 PBC) honored seniors David Bermudez, Hunter Boose, Phil Dukes, Connor Gilbert, Nick Rau, C.J. Reed, Drew Taylor, Cole Thompson, and Frank Warren in a pre-game ceremony. The Jags also hosted a free baseball clinic prior to the game as part of the PLAY BALL SUMMER initiative with Mayor Hardie Davis Jr's., office and the mayor threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Jags junior lefty Will Thompson (6-4) gave up the first run of the game on an RBI single in the second inning for a 1-0 GC (30-16, 18-11 PBC) lead. Thompson went 5.0 innings and struck out four while giving up eight hits for six runs (four earned).
The Bobcats brought in four more in the third inning on two hits and two errors for a 5-0 advantage.
Charlie Hecht (7-2) went 7.0 innings for the Bobcats and allowed nine hits for three runs while striking out five.
The Jags scored their first run on sophomore Gage Patton's solo homer off the scoreboard in the bottom of the third, but Matt Miller hit a home run for the Bobcats to make it 6-1 in the fourth. Patton produced another for Augusta with a sacrifice fly to score Rau for an 8-2 score.
Augusta knocked four hits in the eighth highlighted by Boose's double and cut the score to a 10-5 deficit. The Bobcats brought in Cameron Busby and Chris Gammon to the mound to close out the game for a 10-5 final.
Augusta seniors C.J. Reed and Frank Warren made appearances out of the bullpen and C. Thompson caught two runners trying to steal second.
Sophomore Jim Wagner was 3-4 with a run and RBI, Boose was 2-5 with a run, and Rau, and freshmen Austin Herkel and Lawson Dunkin each had two hits.
The Jaguars host their final regular-season game of the season on Sunday, May 1 with a 1:00 p.m. start against Georgia College for game three of the series.
