AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta Jaguars (29-19, 17-13 PBC) wrapped up regular-season play on Sunday, May 1 with an 11-4 Peach Belt Conference loss to the Georgia College Bobcats at Jaguar Field.

Georgia College (31-16, 19-11 PBC) completed the series sweep with 16 hits to the Jags 13. The Jaguars end the regular season 29-19 overall and 17-13 in the league with a 14-11 home record and 12-7 mark on the road.

GC scored two runs in the first and one run in the second and third, but Augusta answered with the same scoring and had a 4-4 tie game until the fifth when the Bobcats broke it open.

Sophomore Jim Wagner recorded another four-hit performance and went 4-5 with two runs. Seniors Connor Gilbert and Hunter Boose and freshman Lawson Dunkin each had two hits.

Sophomore David Hagelston (4-3) started and went 4.0 innings to surrender six runs (four earned) on 11 hits. Junior Joey Stillwell tossed 3.0 innings and gave up four hits for four runs (two earned), before senior Frank Warren closed out the game on the hill.

Trevor Guthrie went 3.0 innings in the start for Georgia College and gave up six hits for four earned runs and Bradley Spinner (2-0) came in and tossed 5.0 innings to give up five hits for zero earns.

Augusta entered the game as the fifth ranked team in the PBC standings behind Georgia College. No. 13 Columbus State claimed their third PBC regular-season title, Lander is second, USC Aiken and USC Aiken third, GC fourth, Augusta fifth, Montevallo sixth, Flagler seventh, Francis Marion eighth, North Georgia ninth, UNC Pembroke 10th, Georgia Southwestern 11th, Young Harris 12th, and Armstrong State 13th.
