DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Augusta University baseball team lost a one run game to the No. 3 North Georgia Nighthawks on Saturday afternoon at Bob Stein Stadium.

Augusta (10-13, 4-7 PBC) carded three hits, but couldn't manage a run in game two of the Peach Belt Conference series. Ranked No. 3 in the nation according to the NCAA Collegiate Baseball rankings, the Nighthawks (20-4, 7-1 PBC) won game one 15-4, but had to endure a one-ran battle with the Jaguars in the second meeting.

Making his fourth start of the season for Augusta, senior southpaw Matthew Kuhlenberg (1-3) went 5.1 innings and only allowed one run on six hits with three strikeouts.

Seniors Cody Pugh and Joey Stillwell came on in relief for the Jags to each pitch 1.1 innings.

UNG's Steven Tomlinson plated the first and only run of the game on a single to right centerfield in the fourth inning. It was all Daniel McCrary needed as he pitched 7.1 innings for the Nighthawks to get the win.

AU freshmen Davis Murray, Adam Spurlin, and Jake Bogosian each had one hit to highlight the offense.

Augusta meets the Nighthawks for game three of the series on Sunday, March 19 at 1:00 p.m.
