Box Score 2 Augusta, Ga. – The Augusta University softball team hosted its first home games of the 2020 season on Monday afternoon and fell to the Coker Cobras twice in non-conference action at Jaguar field.
GAME 1
The Jaguars lost a 2-0 thriller in the first game of the double header. Both teams remained scoreless throughout the first 7 innings. Coker scored 2 runs at the top of the 8th to secure their win in the tie-breaking inning. Freshman Kelsey Parks pitched a complete game in and only allowed 3 hits during the game.
The Cobras' Madison King and Hannah Goodman both had one RBI in the final inning. Hannah Fisher (1-0) got the win on the mound for the Cobras – pitching 2.1 innings to give up no runs and 1 hit.

GAME 2
The second game of the series proved to be another even match-up. While Coker scored a run early in the first inning, Riley Williams' double in the fourth inning allowed Olivia Biles in for a run that would even the score. Coker answered with 3 runs in the 7th inning with Morgan Hunter at the mound. Jakayla Sullivan homered late in the seventh inning for 2 RBIs, but the Jag's eventually fell to the Cobras 3-4.
Augusta's Morgan Hunter started on the mound and pitched 6.1 innings. She struck out two and surrendered seven hits for four runs, before Katy Caldwell pitched .2 innings and allowed 2 hits.
Augusta travels to Wingate University for a 1:00 p.m. non-conference doubleheader on Saturday Feb. 15th before returning home to host Emmanuel the next day for a 1:00pm double header at Jaguar Field.
