Box Score 3 ANDERSON, S.C. – The Augusta University baseball team competed in 2 non-conference games at Anderson University against Saginaw Valley State and Anderson University on Friday.
The two losses put Augusta at 0-8 for the season.
Game 1
In the first game of the day, Augusta took on Saginaw Valley State. Jaguar Aaron Chick (0-3) tossed five innings during the matchup. He struckout 4 batters out and allowed 5 hits before the bullpen took over with 4 different Jaguars pitching in relief.
Skylor Murphy and Trent Maddox led the Jaguars during the game. Murphy posted 2 RBIs and 3 hits while Maddox posted 2 RBIs and 2 hits. Garrett Suiter also added 2 hits during the match-up.
The Jags scored 4 runs in the 8th inning, but lost the contest 7-18. Augusta moved to 0-7 on the season while the Cardinals moved to 1-0.
Game 2
The Jaguar baseball lost to the Anderson University Trojans 0-7 in the Jag's second game of the day. Augusta moved to 0-8 with the loss while Anderson moved to 5-2 for the season.
For Augusta, Skylor Murphy, Trent Maddox, and Timothy Gray all registered hits in the game. The Trojans' Nick Vella had 3 hits in the game.
Hunter Norman (0-2) started on the mound for the Jags. After pitching 6 innings in which he allowed 7 hits for 1 run, he was relieved by Will Cantrell and eventually Chase Horton. Cantrell tossed for 0.1 inninns while Norton pitched 1.2 innings to close out the game.
