Box Score 2 AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University softball team traveled to North Carolina to take on Wingate University. Augusta fell 8-0 in both games.
The doubleheader against Wingate (2-6) started a 5-game home stand for Augusta (0-8). The Jags host Erskine on Wednesday, Feb. 19th for a 1:00 p.m. non-conference double feature at Jaguar Field. AU plays Lenoir Rhyne Feb 22nd for a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader.
Game 1 vs. Wingate
The Bulldogs booked four runs in first 3 innings with four more added by the 6th inning
Jags sophomore Katy Caldwell took over pitching duties for freshman Kelsey Parks (0-4) in the fifth inning and pitched 0.2 innings. Parks struck out four batters during the matchup.
The Bulldog's Aubrey Reep pitched a complete gain against the Jags.
Game 2 vs. Wingate
Wingate led with 2 runs in the first inning. The Bulldogs capitalized on one Jaguar error in the fifth inning which propelled the Bulldogs to an 8-0 lead.
Leading AU's offense was sophomore Reilly Williams and junior Bella Fernandez both registered hits during the matchup.
Augusta sophomore Morgan Hunter (0-4) allowed 7 hits for 6 earned runs while striking out 2 batters. She was relieve by Jada Jackson in the 5th inning.
