Box Score 2 AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University softball team dropped a pair of non-conference games to No. 23 Lenoir-Rhyne on Sunday afternoon, falling 7-2 and 4-1 in back-to-back meetings at Jaguar Field.
Augusta (0-10) recorded a handful of hits against Lenoir-Rhyne (14-2). The Jags play at Newberry College on Wednesday March 26th for a 1:00 p.m. non-conference doubleheader in Newberry, S.C.
GAME 1 Augusta vs. Lenoir-Rhyne
AU freshman Kelsey Parks started pitcher Kelsey Parks who was on the mound for 4.0 innings. She struck out 2 hitters and allowed 9 hits. She was relieved by Courtney Browne, who pitched for 3 innings and allowed 5 hits with no runs.
Lindsey South and Reilly Williams each had two hits for the Jaguars. Lenoir Rhyne outhit AU 7-2 in the game.
Lindsay South homered in the bottom of the first inning for the Jags. Olivia Biles' double in the bottom of the 5th allowed 3rd baseman Sydney Tulin to score, which brought the final score to 7-2.
GAME 2 Augusta vs. Lenoir-Rhyne
The Jaguars put up six hits in the game, but Lenoir-Rhyne hit ten. The Bears scored a run in each of the first 2 innings.
A single by Senior Courtney Browne allowed Sophomore Riley Williams to score at the bottom the 6th.
Lindsey South, Reilly Williams, Jakayla Sullivan, Olivia Biles, Megan McCook, and Courtney Browne all registered hits in the game.
Morgan Hunter (0-5) started pitched a complete game. She struck out 1 batter and allowed 4 runs.
