Box Score 2 NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. – The Augusta University baseball team lost a pair of Peach Belt Conference games against the Flagler College Saints on Saturday at the scenic SRP Park in North Augusta.
Augusta (1-2) fell 1-4 in game one before dropping game two 2-4.
Brian Trepanier started on the mound in game one and went 6 innings, striking out 3 batters and allowing 3 runs and 3 hits.
Flagler struck first, carding three runs in the top of the 6th inning.
Ben Markiewicz hit a sac fly out to centerfield that allowed Mason Robertson to score in the bottom of the 6th for the Jags only score of , 1.
Ben Koch finished game 1 on the mound, tossing 3.0 innings and allowing 1 run.
Trent Maddox was 2-for-4 for the Jags in game one Walker Sinclair was 2-for-3 as Augusta totaled five hits to Flagler's seven.
Kyle Morton pitched the second meeting for the Saints and logged 8 innings of work innings to allow four hits for one run.
Augusta booked an early lead in game 3 of the series after a Ben Markiewicz double brught Skylor Murphy and Jose Nogueras home.
Answering single runs by Flagler in the 6th, 8th, and 9th inning lead to a 4-2 defeat of the home team in game 3.
Will Cantrell pitched 7.0 innings to game-three for Augusta and allowed six hits for one runs. Cotton Phillips, Chase Horton, and Austin Heard each pitched 0.2 innings to close out the game,
The Jaguars travel to Columbus State Friday and Saturday March 5th – 6th for a 3-game series Peach Belt Conference Series.
