FLORENCE, S.C. – The Augusta University softball team fell 8-0 and 7-0 to the Francis Marion Patriots on Saturday afternoon in Peach Belt Conference play.

GAME 1

The Jaguars (8-12, 2-2 PBC) produced hits on the Patriots (5-8, 1-0 PBC), but five runs in the first inning and couldn't recover.

Olivia Biles and Lindsey South were both for 1-for-2. On the mound for the Jags, Mary Tillman pitched 2.0 innings. She allowed 5 hits and 5 runs before she was replaced by Katy Caldwell for 2 innings. Caldwell allowed 3 runs and 6 hits.

Francis Marion's Rachel Davis pitched a complete game for the Patriots.   

GAME 2

Francis Marion plated three runs in the first inning and carried another early lead on to a 7-0 final.

Jaguar shortstop Jakayla Sullivan was 2-for-3 from the plate. Aminah Wood, Madelyn Libby, and Aliyah Luke were all 1-for-2.

AU's Chloe Wilson pitched a complete game allowing 10 hits and striking out 6 batters,  

The Jaguars return to action tomorrow at Emmanuel in Franklin Springs, Ga for a game that was initially postponed due to weather. First pitch is at 2:00pm for the double header.
