Box Score 2 AMERICUS, Ga. – Traveling to Americus on Thursday, the Augusta Jaguars held the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes to 1 run in game one before winning 9-0 in game two
The Jaguars (11-19, 5-7 PBC) forced an early close to game 2, scoring 9 runs in only 5 innings.
GAME 1
Augusta did all of their scoring for the game early, scoring 5 runs in just the first inning of the game. Summer Frye started Augusta off with a single to the shortstop that drove Lindsey South home. Emma Seagrave then hit a bases loaded homer to extend the first inning lead to 5-0.
The Hurricanes added a single score off a double in the 4th inning but fell 5-1 on their home field.
Olivia Biles was 2-for-4 in the contest. Summer Frye was 1-for-3 with 1 RBI while Emma Seagrave added 4RBIs on her single hit of the game. Augusta outhit the Hurricane 7-2 in game one.
Mary Tillman pitched a complete game, striking out 7 batters and only allowing a single run.
GAME 2
The Jaguars posted an impressive 12 hits in only 5 innings of play during game two, blanking Georgia Southwestern 9-0.
Emma Seagrave started off the scoring in the second inning with a single to left field that allowed Aminah Wood to score. In the third inning, a single by Lindsey South and a double by Aminah Wood pushed the score to 4-0. To close out the third inning, Wood scored and Emma Seagrave reached first on a fielder's choice.
In the fourth inning, a single by Olivia Biles put Aliyah Luke over home plate. Lindsey South then doubled, pushing Jakayla Sullivan in for the score. For the final score of the game, South and Biles scored after an error by Georgia Southwestern's left fielder.
Jakayla Sullivan was 3-for-2 with 2 runs. Olivia Biles was 2-for-4 with 1 RBI and 2 runs. Lindsey South was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and 2 runs. Aminah Wood also carded two hits with 2 RBI and 2 runs.
In her 14th start of the season, Chloe Wilson posted 4 strikeouts in game two, while allowing four hits in her complete-game win.
Augusta hosts in-conference rival USC Aiken on Saturday, April 10th.
