Box Score 2 AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University softball team hosted the UNC Pembroke Braves for a Peach Belt Conference series on Sunday at Jaguar Field and dropped game one 9-0, before dropping the second game 6-2. The weekend series also marked 2021 senior day for AU softball and the final games of the season.
Augusta finishes the season 14-24 overall and 8-12 in the Peach Belt, while UNC Pembroke is now 26-12 in the league.
GAME 1
The visiting Braves held Augusta scoreless in the first game of the series. Madelyn Libby carded the Jags sole hit of the 6 inning game and the Jaguars fell 9-0.
Mary Tillman started on the mound for the Jaguars, pitching 4 innings and striking out 1 batter. She was replaced by Kelsey Parks for 2 innings and finished the contest for AU.
GAME 2
The Braves struck first in the second game of the day, scoring a single run in the third. Augusta answered immediately with Lindsey South and Jakayla Sullivan scoring off of an error in the same inning. UNC Pembroke tied the score at 2-2 after a score in the fourth and took a 4-2 lead after two scores in the fifth inning. The visiting carded two more runs in the final inning, topping AU 6-2.
Jakayla Sullivan, Lindsey South, and Aminah Wood all carded single hits in the game. Chloe Wilson (8-10) pitched all 7 innings for Augusta, allowing 7 hits and striking out five batters.
