Augusta Softball Volunteers at The Buddy Walk®

EVANS, GA - The Augusta University softball team spent time volunteering at the Buddy Walk® on Saturday, Nov. 4.

The Buddy Walk® program was established in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) to promote the acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. It is also the world’s most widely recognized public awareness program for the Down syndrome community.

Hosted this year at Evans Towne Center Park, The Buddy Walk® helped raise money for local and national programs and services. The Jaguars spent time running various activity stations and playing games with participants.

“It was fun and I enjoyed interacting with the community, especially the Downs community,” said pitcher Alissa Bolinger. “It was nice showing them love they may not always get.”
