The Jaguars fell behind early in the 6-2 loss to Young Harris in Game 1. Augusta found themselves down 3-0 heading into the fourth inning. AU would put a run on the board off a passed ball in the inning.
The home team would score three more runs in the fifth inning, taking a 6-1 lead. Augusta would score its final run of the game after
Kyle Lodise grounded out to the second baseman and scored
Parker Ingram.
Pat Galvin went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Jags in hits.
Mason Bernard started on the mound for Augusta. Bernard went two innings, allowing two runs on two hits and walking no batters.
Jasper Dubberly would pitch for 2.2 innings before
Turner Sircy pitched the final 3.1 innings of the game.
Augusta 5 Young Harris 9
August held a 4-1 lead heading into the seventh inning. Two huge innings for Young Harris pushed the Mountain Lions to a 9-5 victory in the second game of the day.
The Jaguars got on the board in the first inning when
Jordan Wilkie doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. On the next at bat
Parker Ingram blasted a three-run homer for a 4-0 lead.
After Young Harris scored a run in the second inning, both teams remained scoreless until the seventh inning.
Brit Kelly started on the mound for AU, pitching 6.1 innings before Aeden Cates came in to pitch.
Brian Trepanier and
Dominic Canale both saw time on the mound for AU.
Mike Morrison was 2-for-4 with 1 run to lead Augusta,
Harrison Aulds also registered two hits.
