Box Score AUGUSTA, GA –The Augusta University baseball team fell behind early in a 5-1 loss to No. 30 Young Harris on Sunday to wrap a three game series. Augusta falls to 1-7, 0-3 PBC while Young Harris improves to 9-2, 3-1PBC.
The home team would score twice in the first inning and once in the third before Augusta answered with a single run in the fifth inning. Young Harris would tack on single runs in the sixth and eighth inning for the win.
Augusta outhit the Mountain Lions 11 to 8.
Kyle Lodise,
Pat Galvin, Kyle Laroche, and
Koby Ayala all had multiple hits for AU. Ayala, Laroche, Galvin, and Lodise each collected two hits to lead the Jags.
J.R. Fordham started in the circle for Augusta. Fordham lasted six innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out five.
Turner Sircy came in to pitch 1.1 innings before
Logan Howell pitched the final 0.2 innings.
Augusta returns to action on Friday Feb 24
th for the start of a three game PBC series against Georgia Southwestern State. First pitch is slated for 2pm.
