Box Score 2 St. Augustine, Fl. – The Augusta University softball team dropped a Peach Belt Conference double header to Flagler on the road Saturday afternoon. Augusta is now 17-27, 4-22 PBC while Flagler improves to 17-31, 12-14 in conference play.

Late-game heroics were not enough in the game 1 of the series against the Saints. Augusta struck first after off a sac fly from
Paige Patterson that plated Lauren Barret for a 1-0 Jaguar lead.
A huge third inning saw Flagler score eight runs, but AU would battle. In the top of the fifth, Barrett stole singled up the middle and stole second, then crossing home plate off another single from Patterson.
After Flagler added another single run in the eighth inning, AU made a furious comeback in the final inning. To start the inning, Macy Posial came in to pinch hit and reached on an error by the second baseman. A double by
Hayden Pearson followed a single to center field from Barett and scored Poisal.
Shelbie Summerlin came in and reached on an error by first base that scored Pearson and forced a Flagler pitching change.
Lauren Slade hit a single on the next at bat for a score and a subsequent wild pitch plated another Jaguar run for a 9-7 score.
Bailee Roberts hit an RBI single up the middle for a 9-8 score.
Hayden Pearson was 2-for-3 with 1 run and 1 RBI to lead Augusta. Lauren Even and
Lauren Barrett each had 2 hits in the contest.
Alissa Bolinger (2-6) got the start for Augusta tossing 2.2 innings and allowing 3 hits for 5 runs while striking out 2.
Hannah Turner pitched the final 3.1 innings, allowing 4 hits for 4 runs.

Augusta scored its only run in the second game of the day off a sac fly from
Bailee Roberts in the first inning. Steady offense from the Saints ended in a 6-1 victory for the home team.
Paige Patterson and
Lauren Evens also carded hits in the game with Patterson carding the only double for the team.
Ansley Gibson (9-14) pitched a complete game, allowing 7 hits and striking out 5 batters.
