AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University volleyball standouts Sophia Kruczko and Jada Suguturaga have been named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators for their excellence on the court and in the classroom.
Kruczko, a senior right-side hitter from Cary, N.C., recorded 241 kills while hitting .209 this season. She also contributed 76 total blocks, including 2 solo blocks, helping Augusta advance to the NCAA Southeast Regional Semifinals.
Suguturaga, a graduate student middle hitter from South Jordan, Utah, led the Jaguars with 152 total blocks, ranking among the top blockers in the Peach Belt Conference and the nation. She also added 180 kills while playing a key role in Augusta's postseason success.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Volleyball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program honors student-athletes across four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve (competed in 90 percent of the matches or have started 66 percent of the matches) with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution. The cumulative grade-point average may NOT be rounded up to 3.50.
