Avery Jaynes Honored as Male PBC Track Athlete of the Week

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University's Avery Jaynes has been named the Peach Belt Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week after breaking the league's indoor 5,000-meter record at Boston University.

Jaynes ran 13:58.81 against a nationally competitive field loaded with Division I athletes, setting a new Peach Belt Conference indoor record and Augusta indoor school record. His performance also met the NCAA Division II qualifying standard.

The junior distance standout adds the record to an already accomplished résumé that includes All-America honors, Augusta outdoor records in the 5,000 and 10,000 meters, Peach Belt outdoor records in both events, PBC Outstanding Track Athlete of the Year, and an appearance at the 2025 NCAA National Championship.
