Augusta Men's Track & Field Opens Season at SWU/Susan Rouse Invite

CENTRAL, S.C. – The Augusta University men's track & field team opened its 2025 outdoor season at the SWU/Susan Rouse Invite, hosted by Southern Wesleyan University. The Jaguars recorded multiple top-10 finishes across various events in a strong season debut.

Top Performances

  • Chris Hart secured first place in the 100-meter dash, crossing the line in 10.68 seconds.

  • Roberto Barrera clinched first place in the 400 meters with a time of 49.75 seconds.

  • Andrew Todd took first place in the 5000 meters, finishing in 16:06.66.

  • Sawyer Whatley won the 400-meter hurdles, posting a time of 1:00.33.

  • Mitchell Jean Baptiste claimed first place in the high jump, clearing 2.00 meters (6'6.75").

  • Joshua Bowen dominated the javelin throw, earning first place with a mark of 57.49 meters (188'7").

    The Jaguars will return to competition next weekend as they travel to Columbia, SC for the John-Hunter James Classic hosted by Columbia International.
