Luke R. Barch went 6.1 innings giving up just a single run on two hits as Augusta knocked off USC Aiken 6-1 Saturday at Roberto Hernandez Stadium in Aiken. S.C,
Griffin Stewart pitched the final 2.2 innings to pick up the save as the Jags even the series with the Pacers at a game apiece. With the victory, Augusta is now 6-14 in the Peach Belt Conference and 10-31 overall. The Pacers are 7-13 in conference play, 17-24 overall. The win by Barch was his second and Griffin picked up his second save of the year.

Nolan Turner for the early advantage.Â
Aiken would tie it in the fourth, but Barch would buckle down and not allow another run.Â
In the 7th, Augusta would take the lead for good. Following a lead off walk,
Aidan Cannaday would pick up a single. That was followed by an
Owen Primm bunt single to load the bases.
Ty McClintock would follow with a RBI single. Turner and Morrison then delivered run scoring sac flies as the Jags plated three in the stanza.Â
AU would add two more runs in the ninth. Turner would come up with a RBI single as Morrison would deliver another sac fly for the final run of the game.Â
Eight different Augusta hitters would collect hits with McClintock having two of them. Morrison drove in three runs and Turner had two RBI.Â
The third and final game of the series will be held Sunday afternoon with first pitch at 1 p.m.
