ATLANTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's track and field team concluded its regular season at the Georgia Tech Invitational this past weekend, earning competitive times and marks across the sprints, distance, and field events.
Sprints and Relays
Freshman Jalen Belton led Augusta in the 100 meters with a time of 10.65 for 18th overall. Devin Barolette (11.12), Michael Meriweather (11.19), and Trent Thomas (11.34) rounded out the sprint crew. Belton also paced Augusta in the 200 meters, finishing in 21.90. Barolette followed at 22.11.
In the 400 meters, Charlie Roberts ran 49.24, while Roberto Barrera (49.88) and Mykel Thompson (50.79) added strong efforts. The 4x400-meter relay team of Roberts, Barolette, Amir Dayal, and Barrera clocked a 3:22.50.
Middle Distance and Distance
Seniors Amir Dayal and Seth Eye each posted a time of 1:54.72 in the 800 meters, while Noah Shepherd (1:56.70) and David Ajuzie (1:59.02) followed. In the 1500 meters, Patrick Motes ran 3:59.04, with Eye (3:59.56) and Shepherd (4:14.45) close behind.
Matthew Moore led Augusta in the 5000 meters with a time of 15:21.63. He was followed by Brandon Martin (15:26.24), Eli Corn (15:34.01), and Elijah Fitts (16:01.82).
In the 3000-meter steeplechase, Andrew Todd finished ninth in 9:24.28, while Andrew Helfers (9:26.48), Carter Dehnke (10:27.95), and Shahzeb Rashid (10:40.05) added depth to the event.
Jumps and Throws
Mitchell Jean Baptiste cleared 2.03m (6' 7.75") in the high jump to finish sixth, while David Batts reached 1.90m (6' 2.75"). In the javelin, Ryan Lee threw 50.96m (167' 2") for 12th, with Joshua Bowen close behind at 49.75m (163' 3").
The Jaguars now shift their focus to the Peach Belt Conference Championships, set for April 28–29 in Daytona Beach, Fla.
