AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University Athletics currently sits ninth in the country in the NCAA Community Engagement Impact Challenge, a nationwide competition that recognizes the service of student-athletes across Divisions I, II, and III.
Since August 1, Augusta student-athletes have contributed more than 325 hours of service in the local community, resulting in an economic impact of over $11,000 in the past month alone. The softball program leads the department in total hours served.
The NCAA Impact Challenge, powered by Helper Helper, runs from September 1 through December 15 and measures both overall student-athlete participation and average hours served. The initiative highlights the work of student-athletes beyond competition, with projects ranging from tutoring youth and serving meals to cleaning parks and supporting local shelters.
In the Division II standings, Augusta is ninth nationally.

Since its launch, the Impact Challenge has grown into one of the NCAA's most visible service initiatives, with dozens of new schools signing on this fall.
Augusta's student-athletes will continue their service efforts throughout the fall and spring semesters, building on the momentum of their early success and further strengthening ties between Jaguar Athletics and the Augusta community.
