AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University softball has been selected ninth in the Peach Belt Conference Softball Preseason Coaches Poll, released Thursday by the league office ahead of the 2026 season.
The Jaguars collected 19 points in the poll after finishing the 2025 season with a 29–27 overall record. Augusta enters its 27th season under head coach Melissa Brocato, who remains one of the longest-tenured coaches in the conference.

North Georgia Nighthawks was selected as the preseason favorite, earning 76 points and six first-place votes. Flagler Saints followed in second with 69 points and one first-place vote, while Georgia College Bobcats placed third with 62 points and two first-place votes. Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes finished fourth with 55 points and one first-place vote.
Columbus State Cougars rounded out the top five with 49 points, followed by USC Aiken Pacers (44), Lander Bearcats (41), and USC Beaufort Sand Sharks (26). Middle Georgia Knights was picked 10th with nine points.
