AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta softball is headed to the Peach Belt Conference Tournament and will open play Friday against Columbus State.

The Jaguars earned the No. 7 seed and will face the No. 2-seeded Cougars at 11 a.m. in Dahlonega, Ga., with North Georgia serving as the host site.
Augusta finished the regular season 12-15 in conference play, tying with USC Aiken and USC Beaufort in the standings. After tiebreakers were applied, the Jaguars slotted in as the No. 7 seed.
Columbus State enters the tournament after going 20-7 in league play during the regular season.
The PBC Tournament features eight teams in a single-elimination format. Quarterfinals will be played Friday, followed by semifinals on Saturday and the championship game on Sunday.
Also on Friday, North Georgia will face Flagler, Georgia College takes on USC Beaufort, and Lander meets USC Aiken.
All games will be played at Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium.
