HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Augusta State rallied for a run in the top of the 10th Wednesday for a 5-4 victory and earned a split in their non-conference road doubleheader with Winston-Salem State at Ed Price Field.
ASU senior Tristan Torrie delivered a sacrifice fly with one out in the 10th to plate senior Casey Hanrahan, who reached on a leadoff walk and moved to second on senior Alex Walker's single in the first game.
Hanrahan went 4-for-4 with an RBI and senior Andy Onufrak had two hits and an RBI. Walker and sophomore Jake Sutton each drove in a run as well for the Jags (15-16), who combined for 11 hits.
Sophomore righthander Josh Barks (1-2) logged his first win of the season with 3.0 innings of scoreless relief. He and junior reliever Patrick Lowe combined to allow just four hits and struck out six in 6.1 innings of work in relief of starter Kip Custer.
The Rams (17-11) rallied in the bottom of the seventh for a 4-3 win in game two.
Hanrahan had two of the Jags' five hits and an RBI in game two. ASU junior Caleb Saggus combined for four steals in the doubleheader to increase his conference-leading total to 34.
ASU travels to Florence, S.C., for a three-game PBC weekend series with Francis Marion. The Jags and Patriots play a doubleheader on Saturday, March 26 at 3:00 p.m., at Cormell Field and meet in a single game on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
